They have a nice field there, big city, lots of bases and bunkers all over the field. There are lots of small paths going through the thicker parts of the woods leading to all the bases.
Kevin has metal poles by the bases and had a yellow and blue flag on each, you get your flag up and clear the area so you are not under attack and you can respawn there, very cool I thought. Me and Eric cleared out 3 on one side to help us move up, yes we lost two back and forth, but they lost others as well.
We were the evil side and both sides were evenly matched which would explain the way we lost by 11 points in the end. We started with 30 on each side and I know some walk ons added a few more to each side as the day wore on. I think the game would have been so much different if we had more, but it played well for flanking and moving with those numbers. We had team Fracture on our side who are led by Price Dollarz and do the PB Underworld site, lots of pics up there of me and Igloo. I had to show them my alter ego after the lunch break, have to do that at least once at a new to me field. Lots of laughs as usual, but some soon found out it ain't just cute and fuzzy once I don the suit.....business as usual and it is amazing how I have learned where to blend and be unseen in the woods in all black and white. I had people almost walk up on me until they saw me move a touch and begin ripping. We both started pumping, but then decided to go electro since we had enough paint and the pumps were not as acurate as I had hoped.
They started by doing a middle flag in the city and whoever held the flag at the end had the base choice for the game, we won that hands down. They did a final battle with the same objective but teams started on the opposite side, we dominated that one, they could not get anywhere near the buildings, so I do not know how we lost with that kind of power. I guess they completed a mission that we could not. I ran some missions when I had to and completed all three with one being a very difficult one.
We had a great time, staged and ran with Grumpy and Joker from PBC Charleston. We were fortunate to be treated well by Grumpy doing his usual delicious meals and serving some very excellent wines, I have never tasted such wine, German and not found in any kind of stores I frequent.
We did not pull any team awards this time but I was fortunate to win the sportsmanship award for our side. I had fun and made more new friends...most will be hitting Fulda Gap in Nov as I have been recruiting for that game. Got a few that say they will join us and I am glad to have them as allies and friends.
I like the field Shrub, we should most def go there again, maybe in a cooler part of the year. This field needs to be back in the MPP cycle, he is doing great things there and if Kevin completes the plans he was telling me about it will be a superb field. I will rank it right there with Charleston and Bear Claw, they have a huge shop with toilets and showers, can cook and have some gear. If you have not been there you need to go so you can see how we players should be treated. These 3 fields are tops in my book, with ABP moving into a tie for the #2 spot.
