| just a few lwssons learned I thought I'd share with everyone else. 1: Radios don’t work very well inside the city (possibly because of all the concrete)2: The sewer tunnel is extremely dark ( a few flash lights are a good idea)3: The effectiveness of the LAW is very limited (we will bring our JCS, but we rarely use it)4: Kneepads are a good idea, all the floors are concrete and (you can get some good contractor style ones for like $5 a set at Harbor freight) 5: it seemed like everyon inside the buildings started running low on paint and air at the same time, something to think about. Merilu would love to hear your thoughts as well!

I agree with all of sneaky's points and would like to further emphasize them. wear cups if you have them.. i know i am usually a huge opponent of wearing any kind of body armor, but i got shot in the boys during a few dozen suicide runs and it pealed the skin back.. i'll be wearing a cup, if they make one big enough (beat ya's to it!!) also, remember to bring plenty of water. they will have porta-johns and there may be someone providing some forms for sustenance, but no guarantees.. bring extra batteries, o-rings, etc as there are NO pro-shops at this field. lastly, i need to reiterate and reiterate some more the importance of working together and staying focused at this game. we will not dominate this field, accept that now! everyone needs to keep their temperments in check and be respectful to everyone (yes, i will be following my own direction). some of us will get torn up, that's just the way MOUT is. take your hits and move off, but do so safely (no cleats either and be careful about slippery surfaces).. we had no issues during the memorial day game and i am sure everyone on all sides would like to see that preserved. remember to think "outside of the box" in all respects as there will be trickery of all kinds and manipulation of how certain objectives can be achieved. |
