| Just like it says, we need a golf cart or small suzuki samauri type vehicle to turn into a tank. I can outfit it with anti-armor weapons. any ideas lets hear em. I have plenty of ways to arm it, and ideas to keep infantry busy as well. | |

| I have been toying with an Idea for over a year now & trying to look into what would be most cost effective...I think a 2 seater go-cart would be a great tank...not that fast & can be governed down easily, it could be easily transported to the game in the back of a pick-up. I have access to paintball netting. We could probably use this type of platform & have it up and operational in a weekend for less than $2500.
Any other Ideas on this...let me know I have been looking for a cheap golf cart as well...

| The go-cart would actually be a great tank I think. Setup a platform in the back, maybe over the engine housing...that someone could stand up on with a turret. Maybe build it to look like something out of Mad Max... | |

| On the cheaper front...we need a few light weight LAWS and standard radios for everybody as well...should be cheap and easy imo. | |

| Doc, the laws are cheap to build. can turn out as many as you want in an hour. As far as radios go I like the motorola xv1100, I have 4 of them myself. They aint cheap but they are secure. Have seen lots of three go for 150 on E-bay, brand new they are 150. They run on aa batts. | |

| Cool I've been doing a little research on the LAWs...PVC one would be nice and not so damned heavy. Personally if we have to play with as many tanks as we did at Tarawa I'd like to be able to strap one on my back for more of those 'oh shit' moments.
Sneaky said that he had 2 radios for like $20 and they got good range wherever they played. I'm thinking cheaper radios for everyone on the squad so even if you're eliminated we can meet back up somewhere on the field because I think the biggest issue we have is 2 or 3 guys get shot out then go back and check back in...by that time you have no clue where the hell the rest of the team is.

| IMO like 3 or 4? In case one goes down and also depending on the game we're at...if its like last game where initially before many of them went down we were getting dominated and pushed back all of the time by them I'd say we need every one on the field we can get.
I personally was shot out by a tank probably 4 to 5 times during the weekend and could have killed every one but had no method of eliminating them.

| At least 2 out on the field for the group (if 2 people are willing to carry one)... with the engineer or bazooka card attached to the marker.. Law man gets shot, someone else grabs the law.. (as we started to do at tarawa). The extra guy with the law is backup or they can work together. Another JCS launcher added to the mix would be great if someone is willing to invest. They're fast to load and co2 bottle screws right in for constant air. The home made ones would be great for backups.. just a little more time consuming to load. What would really be kick arse during the big scenario games where tanks are used is having a dedicated engineering squad, maybe at least 3 people. The 3rd guy provides support, carries extra rockets..etc..etc..
I got my arse handed to me at the Tobruk came a couple times by tanks..and almost had it handed to me at tarawa a few times. When the tanks are used properly by our opponents, they can prove to be a real pain...
Just throwing some ideas out there.

| the problem with that JCS launcher is that ***** is heavy! I had a great time killing tanks with it though (Merilu dude that was some good times!!) if we could just copy that design and make one out of PVC...that would be GREAT! could we make some pretty small ones?? say one shot jobs that are pretty light? I don't know much about that part of it..but i can tell you I didn't even take a marker with me when I was a tank gunner. | |

Think i'd deal with the weight over worrying about safety personally..

| Ok gang, OB aint gave up on the tank idea. As soon as I am able to get around better I will start looking at my John Deere tractor as a candidate for a tank. I am thinking of adding some wheel weights and some aluminun to start. Then remove the deck for ground clearance. I can cover this in 3/8 plywood and mesh to save weight. This setup would be able to travel in a pickup bed. Also would like to find a trailer to drag behind it, that would be for the anti-tank gun in a turret as well as a second gunner for small arms fire. Any ideas would be nice to hear. | |

| I wonder if a trailer would limit your mobility some... If you recall.. Country was very successful with his tank because he was able to get in and out of Dodge quickly...and had great maneuverability in the village..
Though it would be cool to have dual cannons on the front..and a rear cannon on the back...one that a rear gunner can take control of in the event a tank roles up behind you. IF you recall from watching that dvd from Tobruk... 2 tanks would gang up on a single enemy tank.. one to distract, the other to role behind and take them out...
Just an idea.. | |

| Country is one heck of a tanker, the z-turn mower helps that. The only problem with the mower idea is one man no turning turret. Mine is a hydrostat so no clutch no shifting gears thats a plus, just would have to aim mower to aim gun unless i can figure a rear platform for second person and turret. without adding too much weight to rear axle. | |

| I actually had an old escort that I ended up donating... It ran great, but needed a lot of work to make it "road worthy".. Obviously we could of just chopped the hell out of it.. *kicking self*.. But a slower/smaller vehicle would obviously be better for governing and transporting purposes. | |

| Does anyone have access to netting for my project. I have a 2 seater with roll cage. Gonna add a little turret area for gunner. I am trying to get use of welder and spare steel to add ground clearance and bigger tires. Looking at a solid locker style rear axle setup and have to change steering angle. Any help would be welcome. The plus side is light and able to fit in pick-up truck bed. And I am looking to quiet her down with different muffler setup. Come on gang, I am looking to make this happen lets become mechanized. You know the old one has been wanting a tank or tank killer for a long time. Help make an old mans dream come true. | |
