I have been looking at the Hammerhead fronts for the Smart Parts Freak kits. I like my freak, and can't see spending another $180 for a barrel kit, but I am considering the Hamerhead front..anyone have any experience with Hammerheads?

Swamp used to use one...and may be able to tell you how well it worked. It's significantly louder...and has a distinct sound.

it's suppoised to be louder to you, but quieter from the other end right?? isn't that what reversed porting is supposed to do...Lego I know they are rifled....but how well do they work? Not sure how much Rifling can do fo a more or less round paintball VS an actual bullet.

from the origanal freak you should see some differance, but it's not like i was shooting all over the place and now i hit bulls all the time. But it is a nice upgrade to your freak kit!

i'm not sure about the noise, i don't really pay attention to that.

I have found the Hammerhead rather noisy,on both ends according to some opponents.I tested it against my teardrop freak fronts and found no significant advantage. If you're upgrading from a stock freak front,I recommend a 14" or 18" teardrop front.Quiet and accurate.I shot some of the All American fronts, but, have too much porting starting too soon and seemed to require more air than the teardrop fronts.I have several freak teardrops if you'd like to try 'em out.I have a 10",two 14" and one 18".It's all in the bore match.
I've got a Hammerhead 14" barrel with an Autococker back if you'd like to try it,but,as I said,it's noisy.
